The City of Lufkin hired KSA Engineers, Inc. to perform major street improvements to Paul Avenue, one of the City’s most highly trafficked streets.
The project included right-of-way and easement acquisition from adjacent property owners to allow construction of the improvements.
During the Paul Avenue project, KSA designed 8,000 feet of arterial street and numerous drainage improvements, and the firm was responsible for the relocation of 6,000 feet of water and wastewater utilities. A detailed traffic control plan was prepared by KSA to maintain access to driveways and maintain through-traffic over the duration of the construction project.
Also of note:
- Street width was 40 feet from back of curb to back of curb.
- Some of the drainage improvements included large culverts (2-8’x10 box culverts) and concrete ditch paving to accommodate the large flows.
- Street was constructed utilizing concrete paving.
