Oak Street is a residential street near the Historic District west of downtown McKinney. The City of McKinney was making plans to reconstruct Oak Street from Tucker to Josephine (approximately 1,800 feet), and they hired KSA Engineers, Inc. to help with the project.
KSA prepared the plans and specifications for the street reconstruction. The design included reconstruction of the water and sewer utilities located under the street. The existing street was asphalt with shallow ditches along the sides for drainage. KSA designed a concrete street with curbs and gutters; as well as, a new underground storm sewer system. Concrete sidewalks were designed adjacent to the curb with ADA ramps located at the intersections.
