| Tyler Sidewalk Improvements on Front Street & West Loop 323 |

The creation of attractive, connected, walkable areas is the central goal of any city, and Tyler is no different.
In 2006, The City knew it was time for sidewalk enhancement in order to keep its bustling streets booming. KSA Engineers, Inc. was
retained to design sidewalk improvements along Front Street from Fenton Avenue to Shady Lane on the south side of Front Street and
from Fenton Avenue to the east boundary of the TxDOT district office property on the north side of Front Street.
The project included sidewalk improvements on Loop 323 from State Highway 110 to Sunnyhill on both sides of the Loop. On both
stretches of the project, KSA added ADA curb ramps at the intersections and designed necessary Keystone retaining walls.
An existing traffic signal box was removed and relocated to a more suitable spot along the sidewalk. The newly relocated box was
brought up to current electrical code.
In addition, KSA designed modifications to the existing driveways crossing the new sidewalk to be in compliance with Texas
Accessibility Standards.
The project also included pavement repair, removing and relocating road signs, seeding, and sodding in the disturbed areas affected
during project construction.
Coordination with TxDOT so that the plans and specifications met their standards and incorporated the Area Engineer’s comments and
recommendations.
Coordination with the City of Tyler Staff regarding the relocation of water meters and fire hydrants in conflict with the proposed sidewalk
route.
