In 2002, the City of Diboll hired KSA Engineers, Inc. to expand the wastewater treatment plant from a capacity of 1.1 MGD to 2.0 MGD. Along with the increase in capacity, the plant process was upgraded to meet new stricter (10/15/2/6) effluent limits required by the TCEQ.
The plant upgrade consisted of a new mechanical bar screen, vortex type grit chamber, modifications to the existing oxidation ditch, new floating aerators, two new final clarifiers and chlorination/dechlorination facilities.
Sludge from the plant is aerobically digested and dewatered with centrifuges prior to landfilling. |
