KSA Engineers, Inc. was one of 60 businesses and industries that took part in this year's Greater Longview Organization of Business and Education (GLOBE) Career Expo held in Longview on March 29th and 30th.
More than 1,200 seniors from 11 Longview-area school districts attended this two-day career expo at the Longview Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall. The students, all Texas Scholars completing at least the recommended curriculum by the state, had the opportunity to visit with professionals about career opportunities in East Texas.
KSA Design Engineers David Huffstutler and Colden Rich talked with students throughout the day about everything involved in engineering, from how much schooling they went through to beginning salaries to their day-to-day, on-the-job activities.
"It's nice for the students to be able to talk to professionals and companies about what they are looking for in a potential future hire," Colden said. "It allows them to get a different perspective on what to expect when they begin looking for employment after college."
Participating in the Career Expo is just one more way that KSA continues in its efforts toward building stronger communities.
"It's a great opportunity to share some insight into the field and continue to spark excitement about the engineering profession," David said. "As our nation's infrastructure needs continue to grow, it is essential that we continue to reach out into our community and ignite future generations to pursue engineering."
