For the first time in its 33-year history, KSA held a company-wide picnic which spanned the length of Texas as it hosted its first ever KSA Night at the Ballpark!
Four out of the eight offices joined in the fun — KSA staffers from the Austin, Longview, McKinney and Sugar Land participated in the event at their hometown baseball stadium. Lufkin employees, however, decided to trade their catchers' mitts for cowboy hats, as they attended a local rodeo.
"The rodeo was chosen mainly because it’s the popular thing to do here at home without the drive and it was something we could take our families to that was enjoyable by adults and kids," said Nikki Hughes in Lufkin. "We are really looking forward to next year!"
Those employees and their families who attended the baseball games were treated to ballpark fare, and a few groups were lucky enough to enjoy a fun fireworks display at the close of the evening.
"It was wonderful. We all enjoyed ourselves, " said Kim Webb in McKinney. "All the children were so excited — well, most of the adults were too! We went to the Frisco Rough Riders game and they won 5 to 4. It was great."
A group from the Austin office took in a game at the Dell Diamond for a Round Rock Express game, while the Sugar Land office employees cheered on the Astros at Minute Maid Park.
"We all had a great time," said Tiffany Arias at the Sugar Land office. "For most of the kids, this was their first time to go to a ballgame. We all had a blast!"
Longview employees spent the evening with the East Texas Pumpjacks at Driller Park in Kilgore.
"It is nice to be able to spend time outside of work with the people who are our teammates during the work day," said Jennifer Cox, the event's organizer in the Longview office. "It was such a success, we're looking forward to next year!" |
