Construction documents only a click away
01.24.2011
Distribution of construction documents just got easier: Bidding documents are now posted online through KSA Engineers, Inc., allowing documentation to be shared instantly at a click — and at a fraction of the cost.

"KSA just found another way to save costs, reduce waste, and remove boundaries on sharing project documents," said Suzanne Bickham, Director of Administration. "With this new program, everyone wins: our clients, our contractors and us."

KSA recently teamed with Civcast — a service that allows the engineering firm to distribute its plans and specifications electronically at no charge to its contractors or its clients; however, cost-cutting isn't the only benefit of using this software developed by Amtek, a construction reporting service.

"With Civcast, we have developed a cost-effective, common sense solution that meets an industry-wide need for a simple and efficient means of total communication," said Jim Daugherty, owner of Amtek. "When I designed this program, I called on my 20 years of construction reporting experience from the time of advertisement to receipt of bids. Civcast is the complete package."

Through Civcast, KSA has found a way to simplify the bidding process for its contractors and clients. Once upon a time, contractors would obtain project plans and specifications by contacting the KSA team and asking for a printed and bound document which could be hundreds of pages thick and cost an arm and a leg. Now, all the contractor has to do is click up the KSA website, find the project they're interested in, and all the information is at their fingertips free of charge. It's easy and efficient!

"This new service provides complete bid management and control for advertising, document distribution, automatic addenda notification, and even a Q&A area for contractors to ask engineers questions about their project directly," Suzanne added.
