In 1998, KSA Engineers began the planning and design for a project to deliver up to 35 mgd of treated water from Lake Palestine to the City of Tyler. Upon completion of the planning phase, the project consisted of a 35 mgd raw water pump station at Lake Palestine, 8 miles of 54-inch raw water line and a 30 mgd water treatment plant.
KSA was responsible for all design and construction associated with all phases of the project. This included a treatability analysis of the water from Lake Palestine. The selected treatment process included conventional clarification using alum and lime, dual media sand filters and ozone disinfection. |
