This project focused on design of water supply and distribution facilities to serve The Colony residential community near Bastrop, Texas.
The overall project consisted of a 200,000 gallon elevated storage tank, a piping plan on site to accommodate all facilities, site grading as required, a chlorine feed system with residual monitor for automatic chemical feed, interconnection to Aqua Water Supply Corporation including approximately 2,000 feet of 8-inch and 12-inch dedicated transmission lines, and the design of 3,000 feet of 16- inch distribution line from HSPS to point of connection to internal water distribution system for Colony MUD 1E Section 2.
The engineers’ design made provisions for two future 88,000 gallon ground storage tanks and a pump building to facilitate two pumps (phase 1-300 GPM capacity).
The project was completed under two separate contracts. Contract 1 consisted of the construction of the elevated storage tank. Contract 2 consisted of all other work associated with this project.
