| Sugar Land Regional Airport is the fourth largest airport in the greater Houston area and the one of the foremost reliever airports in the Southwest Region. There was a strong need for reliable emergency power to aviation lighting fixtures such as the runway lights, taxiway lights, instrument landing system lights with localizer and glideslope, runway end identifier lights, the precision approach path indicator, terminal building, terminal apron, taxiway J, fuel farm, rotating beacon, lighted windcone and weather station, as well as the future MALSR, or Medium-Intensity Approach Lighting System with Runway Alignment Indicator.
A team of electrical engineers and civil engineers at KSA Engineers, Inc. calculated and verified load requirements, sized the generators, specified the generator equipment, designed the foundations and power feeds and played an active role in the bidding and construction processes. |
