It became necessary to rehabilitate and improve the facilities at South Texas International Airport at Edinburg as the demand for aviation continues to grow in the Rio Grande Valley.
KSA Engineers, Inc. worked closely with the City of Edinburg and TxDOT Aviation to select and design the most cost effective and beneficial improvements and rehabilitation methods for the unique physical and environmental conditions at the Airport. KSA designed, bid, and administered construction for the HMAC overlay of Runway 14-32, Taxiways A, N, and R, and the Terminal Apron reconstruction. Improvements also included the rehabilitation of two hangar access taxiways, construction of a new run up pad, installation of new REILs (Runway End Identifier Lights), replacement of the airport beacon and tower, and marking of all rehabilitated pavements.
KSA’s services included the preliminary engineering report, preliminary and final design, bidding, construction administration, construction material testing, RPR, and project closeout.
