San Angelo Regional Airport to renovate its terminal
Source: World Interior Design Network, 06.02.2011

The San Angelo Regional Airport in San Angelo, Texas is set to start a $4.9 million project for renovation of its terminal.

The project designed by Corgan Associates/KSA Engineering includes refurbishments like upgrades to the terminal building entrance, replacement of the existing 1955 facade with a contemporary one which will be in keeping with the terminal on the runway portion. Other features will involve replacing the wall with glass to allow people to view the concourse which was previously blocked.

Work will also involve expansion of the passageway stretching from the main lobby to baggage claim from four feet to 30 feet. The baggage claim section will be enhanced along with the Transportation Security Administration area which will be equipped with new X-ray machines.

The project has been mostly financed by the Federal Aviation Administration and is scheduled to begin by 2011 end. Work on the terminal will be ready by 2013.
