| KSA Engineers acquires Alliance, adds architecture to list of services |

KSA Engineers, Inc. is proud to announce the acquisition of Louisiana-based Alliance, Inc. The recent purchase allows KSA to both expand its services into new markets while providing additional architectural support to existing client cities. The merger of Alliance’s operations with KSA Engineers, Inc. will provide a broader range of professional services and expertise to Alliance’s existing clients.
Alliance is an engineering, architectural, and planning firm with a long history of service to clients across Louisiana, Arkansas, and Texas. KSA and Alliance have enjoyed a good working relationship for more than fifteen years and have cooperated in the design of several street, environmental, and airport projects over the years.
KSA President Joncie Young said he is excited about the acquisition and believes the decision meets the corporate strategic goal to expand into new markets.
“It’s a good deal for us. We’ve wanted to expand our services into Louisiana and Arkansas for at least ten years. This is just an opportunity that doesn’t come along very often. Alliance is a vibrant firm in Shreveport, La. We have a long-term relationship with them that will allow a quick blending of corporate goals and objectives and that’s what gave us the chance to buy it,” Young said. “When we did our strategic planning about 18 months ago, architecture was one of the services we decided we wanted to provide to our clients. So we’ve been looking since that time. This meets that goal.”
In addition to the broad range of consulting, management, engineering, planning, surveying, and construction services KSA already provides, Young said the addition of architectural design will allow KSA to provide an even greater level of service to our clients.
“Many of our projects, like our airport work, include vertical construction such as hangars, terminals and maintenance buildings,” he said. “In the past, we’ve had to subcontract this work to an architectural firm. The acquisition of Alliance will allow us to do that in-house and gain better control over the entire project.
“Beyond that, a lot of our client cities have building projects that we just couldn’t help them with because we didn’t have the capability; we didn’t have architects on staff,” Young continued. “Now, this will allow us to meet those needs as well.”
Young said the addition of Alliance’s market range and additional services would benefit KSA shareholders by increasing corporate revenues by as much as 10 to 15 percent.
“From our standpoint, we now have a way to service clients in the Louisiana and Arkansas markets from our office in Shreveport. It also expands our geographical reach from as far west as San Angelo and Amarillo, Texas to Shreveport” he said. “For KSA Shareholders, it means a corporation with larger revenues and more stability. The broader we are, the more stable we are.”
