KSA Engineers, Inc. was hired by the City of Longview to design the extension of the Paul Boorman Trail (Hike & Bike Trail) from the northeast intersection of Fairmont and Bill Owens north to HG Mosley and extending from HG Mosley to the south side of Loop 281.
Running alongside Grace Creek, the Paul G. Boorman Trail Phase 2 stretches uninterrupted from Loop 281 to Fairmont Street, including an underpass at H.G. Mosley Parkway. Phase 1 of the trail (previously designed by KSA in a separate project) continues from Fairmont Street to U.S. 80. In total, the trail is approximately 15,000 feet, or 2.85 miles.
The project includes:
Three (3) concrete trailheads
Three (3) concrete parking areas with driveways
9,600 linear feet of 10 foot wide concrete trail
1,000 square yards of color, stamped concrete
50 foot steel pedestrian bridge
90 foot steel pedestrian bridge
Concrete pedestrian bridges and drainage structures
Five-lane concrete slab beam bridge for pedestrian underpass
8-inch and 24-inch water line locations
Retaining walls
ADA compliant ramp and rails
Landscaping
Picnic tables, benches and bike racks
