KSA Engineers, Inc. assisted the City of Hamilton in the planning, design, and construction of the 2009 Pecan Creek Park Trail Project which included recreational multi-use trail improvements funded by the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department’s Trails Grant Program.
Trail improvements comprised more than 1,700 linear feet of concrete trail, two pedestrian street crossings, pedestrian bridge rehabilitation, and restroom pavilion improvements. The particular section of Pecan Creek Park Trail included in this project required careful planning and design considerations to maintain ADA compliance while traversing multiple drainage features along the steep slopes of Pecan Creek’s banks.
Improvements to the existing pedestrian bridge and the Park’s restroom pavilion brought these important and historical structures up to compliance with current accessibility requirements.
Upon project completion, the trail and associated improvements now provide an accessible and aesthetically pleasing recreational transportation link between the new Pecan Creek Park Sports Complex to the north, two park pavilions, park restrooms, and the existing Pecan Creek Park Trail to the south – connecting over a mile of trails and park space for residents and visitors of the City of Hamilton. |
