KSA Engineers, Inc. was hired by the City of Fairfield to prepare plans and specifications to revitalize the sidewalks of their downtown district and bring them into compliance with the known requirements of the Texas Accessibility Standards and the Texas Department of Transportation Standards.
Improvements included removal and disposal of existing sidewalks and subsequent design and installation of new sidewalks; the addition of curb and gutters, handrails, ADA accessible ramps, and retaining walls at high-grade differentiation areas; added decorative pedestrian lighting and street furniture; and completed parking improvements. KSA also refurbished existing pedestrian lights and added planters.
This project was funded during the third round of the TEA-21 Program with a total project amount of $337,000. |
