KSA Engineers recently received a City of Longview building permit for the interior remodel of buildings in the 100 block of East Tyler Street.

Joncie Young, KSA president said the work at 127 E. Tyler St., will allow the firm to move about 10 to 12 administrative office staff into new quarters. The firm will also be getting new conference room facilities.

Handling the construction duties is Longview’s Hugman Construction. The same firm took care of facade improvements and reconstruction a couple of years ago of the former Martin’s women’s dress shop structure.

Young said construction should begin this week.

Prior to the long history of Martin’s, one side of the building was the bank building that the Dalton Gang robbed, and the other side was believed to house a dry goods store.

KSA officials originally hoped to restore the historic facade, but they said too much of it was gone for that to take place, so the reconstruction option was selected.
